FAIRFAX, Va. – The La Salle women's soccer team scored three goals in the first half en route to a 3-0 win over George Mason on Thursday night in Atlantic 10 action at George Mason Stadium. 

Marykate Bateman got the scoring going for the Explorers, finding the back of the net for the fifth time this season in the 20th minute. The junior also assisted a Madison Bower goal in the 41st minute that put La Salle ahead 3-0. 

Jess Kagan gave La Salle a 2-0 lead a few minutes later, converting a penalty kick for her first goal of the season in the 24th minute. 

Bower added another insurance goal at the 40:49 mark in the opening half, receiving a long pass from Bateman and beating Mason keeper Kristen Glad for her third goal of the year.  

Larisa Zambelli made a season-high five saves against 15 shots to tally her second shutout this season. The Explorers took 16 shots on the night, including eight shots on goal. 

Bateman led the way with four shots on goal while Maci Bower, Kristin Haugstad and Kagan all had two shots on target. 

The Explorers return home on Sunday as they host the Duquesne Dukes for Senior Day at 1 PM.
