WASHINGTON, D.C. – The La Salle women's basketball team went 7-for-8 from the free throw line over the final 1:45 to seal a come-from-behind 71-68 victory over Howard at Burr Gymnasium on Wednesday night. 

La Salle trailed 66-64 with 1:45 left in regulation when Ebony Wells hit a pair of free throws to tie the game for the 10th and final time. After scoreless possesions for both teams, Jasmine Alston picked up a steal and hit two foul shots to give La Salle a 68-66 with 1:06 left. 

Alston earned her fifth steal of the game on Howard's ensuing possession and drew a foul on a fast break with 35 seconds remaining. Alston hit both free throws to stretch La Salle's lead to 70-66. 

Howard's Shaylon Tarver hit a layup to cut La Salle's lead back to two points with 24 seconds left before the Bison fouled Micahya Owens on La Salle's next possession. Owens made her second attempt to make it 71-68 and the Explorers didn't allow Howard a clean look at a game-winner on the final possesion .  

Owens finished with a game-high 21 points and six rebounds while Wells and Alston combined for 26 points and 13 boards. The Explorers were 19-for-24 from the charity stripe as a team.  

The Explorers finish their six-game road trip on Sunday afternoon at UMBC at 2 p.m.
