PHILADELPHIA – Drexel went on a 10-0 run late in the first half to take a lead it would not relinquish in a 66-53 victory over La Salle on Saturday afternoon at Tom Gola Arena. Redshirt junior Jordan Price had 19 points to lead the Explorers, while classmate Cleon Roberts added 11.

Graduate student Rohan Brown had seven points and a team-high eight boards.

Drexel was led by 25 points from Tavon Allen and 14 points and 13 rebounds from Rodney Williams. Rashann London added 12.

La Salle (4-3) led 22-18 with 6:11 to play before halftime when the Dragons went on a 10-0 run over the next two minutes, sparked by Allen's two three-pointers, to take a 28-22 lead with 4:14 left. Drexel extended the lead to as many as eight early in the second half before La Salle responded with a 10-2 run of its own.

Roberts had four points during the spurt in which four different Explorers scored. Unfortunately, La Salle was not able to take the lead and the Dragons controlled play the remainder of the contest.

The Blue and Gold shot 37% from the field and 25% from three, while Drexel (1-6) shot 39% from the field and 27% from three.

La Salle is off for eight days before visiting Villanova on Sunday, December 13 at 5 PM. The game will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports 1.
