KINGSTON, R.I.- Strong performances in both the men's and women's 3000 meter finals fueled the Explorers on the second and final day of the Atlantic 10 Championships.

Freshman
Morgan Szekely finished in second in the event thanks to a time of 9:39.6 in the field of 31. Also in the field for the Explorers was senior
Taylor Hackett who ran a 10:21.0 which was good for a 17
th place finish. In the men's side of the event senior
Vince Perozze ran an 8:28.8 which also earned him a second place finish overall as he finished just .22 seconds off of the winning time. Perozze was joined in the event by sophomore
David Ozarowski who ran an 8:38.0 which was just .6 seconds off of being in the points for the event.

Sophomore
Stephen Lewandowski led three Explorers with strong times in the mile. Lewandowski ran a 4:15.6 for fourth place overall as he was less than three seconds behind finishing on the podium. Senior
Nick Ross ran a 4:22.5 which was good for tenth place in the 21 man field while junior
Ian Barnhill also competed and finished with a time of 4:33.0.

Senior
Cayleigh Solano competed in the 1000 meter finals and earned a fourth place finish thanks to her time of 2:57.9. Junior
Molly Mickle also finished in the points on the day for the Explorers thanks to an eighth place finish in the 5000 meters where she ran a 17:18.6 in the field of 28. She was joined in the event by freshman
Michelle Myland who finished in 14
th with a time of 18:04.7 and sophomore
Olivia Boyer who ran a 19:01.1.

In the men's 1000 meter finals three La Salle athletes earned points for the men's team. Juniors
Chris Trimble and
John Pujols ran 2:31.9 and 2:32.5 to finish in fifth and sixth respectively. Freshman Nicholas Smart also made the finals and ran a 2:38.2 for an eighth place finish on the day.

Francis Mancho made the finals in the 60 meters and finished in eighth place as he also earned points for the men's squad. His classmate
Michael Santeramo competed in the shot put where he finished with a throw of 11.96 meters for 12
th place.

Sophomore
Amber Jackson competed in the triple jump and finished with a distance of 10.21 meters for a 16
th place finish overall. The women's 4x800 meter relay team finished in sixth place overall as Tyler, Dwyer, Conville, and Solano combined for a time of 9:22.7. On the men's side the 4x400 meter relay team of Guerre, Hunter, Della Vecchia and Byrd combined to run a 3:23.0 for sixth place overall.

The Explorers return to the track as head to Fairfax, Virginia for the Mason Last Chance Meet on Sunday. The meet provides one final opportunity for athletes to compete and attempt to qualify for either the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Track and Field Championships or the NCAA Track and Field Championships.Â
