PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle track and field program sends six individuals competing in four different events as well as three relay teams to the ECAC/IC4A Division 1 Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at Boston University.

Graduate student
Vince Perozze and sophomore
Stephen Lewandowski will both enter the men's mile field. The time needed to qualify for the men's mile was 4:14.5. Lewandowski used his performance at the Atlantic 10 Championships where he finished in fourth place just off the medal stand to earn his trip to Boston this weekend. Perozze won the men's mile at the NYC Gotham Cup in January with a time of 4:13.16 in his only race at the distance indoors this season to qualify for this weekend.

Junior
Chris Trimble will compete in the men's 1000 meters race this weekend. The cut time for the ECAC's was 2:28.5.Trimble qualified thanks to his time at the Atlantic 10 Championships in the preliminary round. He went on to run a 2:31.92 in the finals which was good for a fifth place finish overall.

Both the La Salle men and women will have a competitor in the 800 meter race this weekend. Freshman
Nick Smart met the 1:54.5 qualifying requirement thanks to his time of 1.52.8 at the Yale Giegengack Invitational where he won the event. Smart ran in the 1000 meters race at the Atlantic 10 Championships most recently where he finished with the second fastest prelims time before coming in eighth in the finals.

Senior
Cayleigh Solano will run on the women's side of the event. The time to qualify for the meet was 2:14.44. Solano qualified thanks to her time of 2:13.47 at the Penn State Nationals where she won the event. Solano was busy at the Atlantic 10 Championships qualifying for the finals in the 1000 meters where she ultimately finished in fourth as well as being a member of the 4x800 meter relay team and the DMR team that earned the silver.

Freshman
Justin Guerre will compete in the 60 meter dash thanks to qualifying for the event with his time at the Patriot Games in late January. The qualifying cut for the event is 6.98 seconds and Guerre ran a 6.97 in the finals of the Patriot Games to earn a fourth place finish.

Both the men and women will compete in the distance medley relay (DMR) this weekend. The men's DMR cut time was 10:19. The La Salle team of
Nick Smart, Josh Byrd,
Chris Trimble and
Vince Perozze qualified thanks to their time of 10:00.51 run at the Yale Giegengack Invitational that earned them first place overall. The men also posted a qualifying time of 10:03.26 at the Atlantic 10 Championships to earn third place with the team of
Nick Ross, Byrd, Trimble, and Perozze.

The women's team needed a 12:08.64 in order to qualify for the DMR race which the bested at the Atlantic 10 Championship. The team of
Taylor Hackett,
Ifetayo Tyler,
Cayleigh Solano, and
Morgan Szekely ran an 11:51.48 which was good enough for the silver. The women also qualified for the 4x800 meter relay which required a time of 9:25.24. The team of Tyler,
Shannon Dwyer,
Kate Conville, and Solano ran a 9:22.75 for a sixth place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships in order to qualify for this weekend.
