PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - The varsity four captured first place in the petite final to lead the La Salle women's rowing team at the Atlantic 10 Championship on Saturday afternoon on the Cooper River.
Junior Katie Reyes was also named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team.
The Explorers outlasted the competition by over 11 seconds, clocking an 8:18.83 to defeat George Mason (8:30.00) and Fordham (8:36.70). The V4 included Reyes as coxswain, as well as
Maura McKenna (stroke),
Brooke Spence (3),
Savannah Fader (2) and
Amanda Ryan (bow).
The V8 also competed, finishing third in the petite final. The Explorers clocked a 7:52.86. George Washington won the petite final in 7:07.16 and Fordham was second in 7:10.10. The V8 included coxswain Emily Geigerich and rowers

Massachusetts successfully defended its Atlantic 10 title with 53 total points and winning the varsity eight. Rhode Island finished runner-up with 47 points, followed by Saint Joseph's (38), Duquesne (34), Dayton (26), George Mason (26), George Washington (25), Fordham (13) and La Salle (6).
The Explorers wrap up the 2014-15 season next weekend at the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
