PHILADELPHIA – Incoming baseball freshman Jared Melone has been named The Reporter/Montgomery News Baseball Player of the Year, it was announced this week.
 
Melone led North Penn to their second PIAA Class AAAA State Championship in three years this past season, hitting .481 with 34 RBI's as a senior.  The North Wales, Pa. native was also named The Intelligencer Baseball Player of the Year.
