Box Score AMBLER, Pa. – The La Salle women's soccer team fell to the Temple Owls 3-0 on Friday afternoon at the Ambler Sports Complex.
The Owls (7-2) got in front early, taking a 1-0 lead on a goal from Gabriella McKeown in the 7th minute. The sophomore played a deflection off a La Salle defender and sent the ball to the upper 90 for the early lead.
The Explorers (3-3-3) battled to keep the Owls off the board for the rest of the half, and entered the break trailing 1-0. It wasn't until midway through the second half that Temple added two goals to put the game out of reach for the Blue & Gold.
Sarah McGlinn made it 2-0 for the Owls in the 69th minute on an assist from Kayla Cunningham before Erin Lafferty pushed the lead to three goals with a header in the 74th minute on an assist from Kaylee Harner.
The Explorers actually outshot the Owls 14-12 but Temple keeper Jordan Nash was outstanding, tallying six saves on the afternoon.
The Explorers don't play again until October 1, when they visit the Massachusetts Minutewomen at Rudd Field to open Atlantic 10 conference play.
