PHILADELPHIA – La Salle volleyball opens up Atlantic 10 play by host two Atlantic 10 Championship teams from a season ago this weekend. They welcome Saint Louis and Dayton to Tom Gola Arena on Friday and Saturday respectively with first serve slated for 7 p.m.

Scouting the Billikens...

-Saint Louis enters the weekend on an eight game winning streak (before Mizzou). The Billikens have lost only twice in the month of September going 9-2.
-Billikens senior setter Meredith Boe ranks ninth in the country with 586 assists on the season averaging 10.65 per frame.
-Saint Louis enters the weekend ranked third in the Atlantic 10 in both hitting percentage (.249), and opposing hitting percentage (.178). Junior Taylor Paulson is second in the conference with a .377 hitting percentage on the year.
-The Billikens reached the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Championship a season ago before falling to George Washington 3-1.

-Dayton enters the weekend on a five game winning streak including all three matches on its way to winning the Flyer Invitational. Dayton beat Jacksonville and Eastern Michigan 3-0 and Illinois State 3-1.
-The Flyers lead the A-10 and rank 17th in the nation averaging 14.43 kills per set. They also rank 29th with a .266 hitting percentage on the year.
-Dayton sophomore setter Jane Emmenecker ranks sixth in the country averaging 11.67 assists per set while senior Alaina Turner ranks 14th in the nation averaging 12.07 swings per set and 27th with 4.27 kills per frame.
-The Flyers are coming off a 2014 season that saw them reach the NCAA Tournament where they beat American 3-1 in the first round before falling to eventual national champions Penn State in the second round.

Scouting the Explorers...

-La Salle enters the weened leading the Atlantic 10 and ranked 22nd in the country with 99 service aces on the year.
-The Explorers grabbed a 3-2 win at UMBC on Tuesday. Sophomore Hannah McGary set a program record with eight aces in the five set win.  McGary leads the conference averaging .46 aces per set.
-Freshman Jensen Sharrits leads the league by averaging 4.36 digs per frame so far on the season.
-La Salle owns the best two five set team hitting percentages on the year in the Atlantic 10. The Explorers hit .323 against UMBC and .321 against Norfolk State.
-Junior Ashely Felton ranks tenth in the Atlantic 10, hitting .297 on the year.
