DAYTON, Ohio – The La Salle women's soccer team used a late second half goal from
Kristin Haugstad to force overtime en route to a 1-1 draw against Dayton at Baujan Field on Thursday night.
Haugstad tied the game at 1-1 in the 86
th minute with her first goal of the season. The junior headed the ball past Dayton keeper Kaelyn Johns after assists from
Danielle Marx and
Maci Bower.
The Flyers had taken an early lead, scoring in the 9
th minute on a goal from Libby Leedom. The goal was Leedom's fifth of the season.
The Explorers had a season-high 25 shots on the night, placing seven on target. La Salle had seven corner kicks compared to five for the Flyers.
The Explorers are back in action on Sunday afternoon as they visit VCU at Sports Backer Stadium.
