PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle Men's Soccer team (6-7, 1-3 A-10) fell to Fordham (5-4-3, 2-1-1) in an Atlantic 10 Conference game at McCarthy Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 1-0.
Fordham's Matthew Lewis scored an early goal off of a rebound that ended up being the game-winner as the Rams held strong on defense.
The Explorers had multiple shots on goal and a few nice scoring chances.
Matt Robinson's shot hit the crossbar in the second half and
Conor Nichols missed just wide late in the game.
Johnny Ciarlante had three shots on goal and
Tony Daniele had two.
In goal,
Mike Kirk was brilliant and made seven saves including some highlight reel diving stops.
Head Coach
Rob Irvine and his team will have a chance for retribution this week as they host Dayton on Wednesday under the lights of McCarthy Stadium. The match is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
