KINGSTON, RI - The Men's Soccer team (6-5, 1-1 Atlantic 10) secured its first Atlantic 10 win of the season with a 2-1 road defeat of Rhode Island.

Johnny Ciarlante netted his third goal of the season to break the scoreless tie just six minutes into the match. Ciarlante finished after a a throw in by Zach Rutherford that was tipped into position by Greg Henry.

The Explorers held the 1-0 advantage until the second half when Tony Daniele gave them a 2-0 lead. Daniele's goal came on a free kick through traffic for his first score of the season. He finished with a team-high three shots on goal. 

Despite a late goal by the Rams, La Salle held onto the win. In net, Mike Kirk garnered his sixth win of the season, making four saves. 

Head Coach Rob Irvine and his team continue their road trip with an away game against VCU on Wednesday at 7:00.
