FAIRFAX STATION, Va. - The La Salle men's rowing team took the water for the final time in 2016 at the Head of the Occoquan Regatta in Virginia on Saturday. Four different boats took part in the event for the Explorers, a pair of varsity eight boats and two varsity fours.
The top varsity eight boat, led by coxswain
Grant Maddock and stroke
Scott Dunn, placed ninth out of 31 boats competing in the event. The group bested teams from Saint Joseph's, Pitt and Virginia Tech. The second varsity eight boat closed in 24th position.
In the men's collegiate 4+ race, the heavyweight four boat that Maddock was also a part of, finished 22nd out of 32 boats. Freshman
Jack Mischak served as the stroke of that boat.
