FULL RESULTS
PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle men's track and field program made their season debut at the Jack Pyrah Invitational this weekend, facing Villanova, Swarthmore, St.Joseph's and Moore Elite Running Club.
Justin Guerre led La Salle to a great start with a first place finish in the 60m sprint, with a time of 6.89.
The junior also participated in the 300m event, finishing first over 29 other runners and shattering the school record with a time of 35.21, which had gone uncontested since 2006.Â
Micheal Hagan paced La Salle in the 500m event, running a 1:08.94 to place sixth, while
Cris Hunter finished seventh with a time of 1:09.51.
Gregory Dix rounded out La Salle's efforts with a ninth place finish with a time of 1:10.54.
Junior
Collin Pierlott sprinted a 2:38.69 to finished sixth in the 1000m event, while
Stefan Sutton (2:50.31) and
Dallas Penny (2:50.90) went ninth and tenth respectively. Â
Chris Trimble finished fourth of nine runners in the one mile race thanks to a time of 4:33.72.
A trio of La Salle runners grabbed the top three finishes in the 3000m to control the event.
Andrew Gorsuch led the way in first with a time of 8:38.81, while Nick LeFavor followed behind to clock 8:40.89. Fran Feruzzi went 8:43.49 to finish third in the field of nine.
Jumper Ken Worthington recorded a second place finish, soaring 1.86m in the high jump.
Jordan Bryan matched Worthington's 1.86m leap to tie for second.
Worthington grabbed first place out of 15 competitors when he leapt 6.74 in the long jump, while Bryan jumped 6.61m to finish third.
La Salle will compete next in the Great Dane Classic, on January 14 on Staten Island, N.Y.
