Explorers Visit Fordham Saturday

PHILADELPHIA– The La Salle women's basketball is on the road this weekend as they travel to the Bronx to take on the Fordham Rams on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff from Rose Hill Gymnasium is set for 2 p.m.

All-Time Series
La Salle owns a 34-11 advantage in the all-time series against the Rams, which dates back to 1984.
 
Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle is looking to build on a 66-57 win over Massachusetts at Tom Gola Arena on Wednesday night. The Explorers never trailed in the contest, and held the lead for the final 33:07 after breaking a 4-4 tie early in the 1st quarter.
 
-The Explorers had a season-high 51 rebounds on Wednesday, outmuscling UMass 51-50 on the glass. 

-Amy Griffin recorded her eighth game with at least 20 points against the Minutewomen, adding seven rebounds and four assists. The sophomore leads the A-10 in scoring with 18.3 points per game this season.
 
-Jasmine Alston tallied her fifth double-double of the year, going for 10 points and 10 rebounds while dishing a game-high six assists. A 5-9 guard, Alston has led the Explorers on the glass in 11 games and recorded double-digit rebounds seven times.  

-Lisa Mintzer had eight points on Wednesday, including six points in the first 4:53, and six rebounds in 20 minutes of action. Both totals were the second-highest of the season for Mintzer. 
 
Scouting the Rams
-Fordham dropped a 61-51 decision at Saint Joseph's on Wednesday night, snapping a three-game winning streak for the Rams. 

-G'mrice Davis led Fordham with 19 points and seven rebounds against SJU while Danielle Burns (12 points) was the only other Ram in double figures. 

-Burns was named the A-10 Player of Week on Monday after averaging 21.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in wins over George Washington and UMass last week.  The junior scored a career-high 31 points against GW  (Feb. 3) and added 12 points, five rebounds and five assists in a win against Massachusetts Saturday (Feb. 6). 

-Hannah Missry now has 229 career three-pointers, which ranks second on the all-time list at Fordham. The junior now needs five more to become the program's all-time leader.

The Explorers return home next week as they host the Saint Joseph's for a noon tipoff on Wednesday for their annual Breast Cancer Awareness game.
