WESTON, Fla. - The La Salle men's golf team wrapped up competition on Tuesday at the Atlantic 10 Match Play Championship at Weston Hills Country Club with a 5-1 loss to George Washington.
Freshman
Andrew Reynolds earned La Salle's only point with a 2-up win over Michael Heda. The Explorers were in good shape midway through the back nine, but the Colonials rallied to take the match.
"The guys played better than the scores looked today," head coach Brad Kane said. "We were in a great spot with 4-5 holes to go but just couldn't hold on. A bunch of the GW guys played really well down the stretch and that was the difference. Getting at least one win in the event against St. Bonaventure yesterday was good though. Andrew had a great tournament, going 2-0-1, and Tonny played really well winning his first two matches. Getting outside and competing this early in the spring is something we haven't really ever done before, and it gives us a nice start to the season.
