PITTSBURGH – The La Salle women's basketball team fell 74-49 to the first-place Duquesne Dukes in Atlantic 10 action on Wednesday night at the A.J. Palumbo Center.
Amy Griffin led the Explorers with 13 points, six rebounds and three assists but a balanced attack from the Dukes proved too much for La Salle. Duquesne grabbed 19 offensive rebounds and scored 21 second-chance points.
Kadri-Ann Lass powered Duquesne with 18 points and nine rebounds while April Robinson added 16 points and six assists. Amadea Szamosi pulled down 11 rebounds to go with 14 points for a double-double.
Micahya Owens netted 10 points for La Salle while
Jasmine Alston and
Ashanti Freeland each chipped in eight points. Freeland secured six rebounds and had three blocks while Alston dished out a team-high four assists.
The Explorers finish the regular season at Massachusetts on Saturday leading up to next week's A-10 tournament. La Salle topped the Minutewomen 66-57 in Tom Gola Arena on February 10.
