NEW HAVEN, CT- Freshman
Megan Connell won the 5000 meters at the first day of the Yale Geigengack Invitation to pace the La Salle women's track and field team.

Connell won the race with a field of 12 women turning in a time of 17:32.43 which is the fastest time run by an Explorer this season, and was 17.81 seconds faster than the nearest competitor. Junior
Olivia Boyer also ran in the race, finishing in ninth place with a time of 18:15.58 which set a personal best for her.

Freshman
Kaleah Miller finished second in the women's long jump field of 16 thanks to a leap of 5.36 meters. Junior
Amber Jackson finished ninth with a 5.41m distance while freshman
Krista Forbes finished in 15
th with a jump of 5.10m.

Sophomore
Amber Jenkins finished in fourth place of the 200 meter dash thanks to a time of 25.93 which won her heat. Jenkins was just .41 seconds off the winner of the race. Freshman
Ariel Mitchell was close behind in 26.19 seconds for seventh place while classmate Forbes crossed in 15
th place with a 27.75 second time.
