PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle women's lacrosse team fell 19-4 to UMBC on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium.

The Explorers got two goals apiece from sophomore
Brittany Edwards and senior
Katelyn Fay in the loss.

The Retrievers jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first ten plus minutes from the game and didn't look back. La Salle had goals from a goal apiece from Fay and Edwards in the first half with the Edwards goal being assisted by junior
Allee Ilgenfritz. UMBC took a 12-2 lead into the half.

In the second half Edwards tallied the third goal for La Salle (0-4) off an assist from senior
Anna Kelly. Fay scored the final goal of the game unassisted.

UMBC (4-2) had eight scorers on the game led by Carolyn Jamison who tallied five goals on the afternoon.

The Explorers forced eight turnovers on the afternoon with Edwards and Kelly both having a team-high two.

Sophomore
Lucy Loughlin recorded seven saves on the afternoon.

La Salle returns to action next weekend when they travel to Sacred Heart and Central Connecticut State on Friday and Sunday respectively.Â
