PHILADELPHIA – La Salle men's rowing competed against city rivals Drexel and Villanova in a regatta held on the Schuylkill river on Saturday.
The Explorers' Varsity 8 boat finished 3
rd, ahead of Villanova, with a time of 6:37.8. The boat was comprised of
Grant Maddock (cox),
Jake Fabel,
Kieran Hughes,
Marqus Brown,
Matt Cardin,
Zach LaBarth,
Josh Brooks,
Jack Schall and
Kris Walls.
La Salle's second Varsity 4 finished second behind Drexel with a time of 7:36.3 and was comprised of Emily Giegerich (cox),
Kenny Roller,
Scott Dunn,
Waleed Omar, and
Mike Gormley.
Also competing on the day in the first Varsity 4 boat were
Elijah Allis (cox),
Marqus Brown,
Kieran Hughes,
Jack Schall and
Josh Brooks. The boat finished fourth with a time 0f 7:49.6.
The team returns to the Schuylkill river to compete in the Murphy Cup on Saturday, March 26.
