PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore
Chase Arnold has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week, it was announced on Monday.
Arnold hit .400 (4-for-10) with a homer and 6 RBI in four games last week as the Explorers earned a series win at East Tennessee State. The sophomore hit a solo homer in the 7th and drove in the game-tying run in the 8th of Friday's 6-4 comeback win before plating four runs in Saturday's 9-4 series-clinching win.
The sophomore slugged .800 over the four games and had a .462 on-base percentage while scoring three runs.
The Explorers host Villanova on Tuesday afternoon for their 2016 home opener. First pitch from Hank DeVincent Field is set for 3 p.m.
