PHILADELPHIA-Robert Morris scored as time expired to grab a 12-11 win over La Salle at McCarthy Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. Sophomore
Brittany Edwards scored a game-high five goals to fuel the Explorers offense.

For Edwards the five goals were her first five on the season. She also added an assist for six total points on the afternoon. She was a perfect 5-for-5 on free position shots and scooped up a ground ball while causing one turnover.

La Salle jumped out to an early lead grabbing the game's first three goals. First senior
Katelyn Fay opened the scoring off an assist from senior
Katie Fonte. Edwards grabbed the next two off of free position shots to put La Salle up 3-0 with 21:09 remaining in the opening half.

After a Robert Morris (2-3) goal, Edwards added her third with 14:56 remaining in the opening half. Fay added her second of the game off an assist from junior
Allee Ilgenfritz to make it 5-1 La Salle (0-3) with 14:33 left in the half.

The Colonials scored four straight heading into the half to make it 5-5 at the break. They also grabbed the first two goals of the second half to make it 7-5 with 25:05 left in the game.

La Salle would score the game's next three goals to take an 8-7 lead. Edwards, Ilgenfritz, and senior
Kerry Newby scored during the stretch for La Salle to take the 8-7 lead with 21:19 remaining. For Newby it was just her third career goal.

Again the Colonials would answer and La Salle fought right back. After things were even at 8-8 the Explorers scored two straight to make it 10-8 with 16:02 remaining. Ilgenfritz added her second of the day off an assist from Edwards and Fay completed her hat trick to make it 10-8.

Robert Morris tied things up at 2-2 but La Salle again was able to answer and retake the lead and Edwards scored her fifth goal of the game with 7:21 remaining to make it 11-10.

The Colonials evened things up at 11-11 with 3:44 remaining ensuring a tightly contested finish. The Explorers had possession with 20 seconds remaining; however, Robert Morris forced a turnover and was able to score just before time expired off a free position shot to take the 12-11 win.

Sophomore
Lucy Loughlin made eight saves in the game and scooped up one ground ball.

Ilgenfritz and sophomore Hayley Leister each had three ground balls on the afternoon to lead the Explorers. Leister also tied for a team-high with two caused turnovers on the afternoon.

La Salle returns to action on Saturday as it welcomes UMBC to McCarthy Stadium with opening draw slated for 1 p.m.Â
