PHILADELPHIA – The VCU Rams won the middle game of a three-game series with the La Salle Exploresr 9-1 on Saturday afternoon at Hank DeVincent Field.
Connor Hinchliffe went 3-for-4 with a double and scored La Salle's only run on a
Drew Jarmuz triple with two outs in the 4th. The Blue and Gold had seven hits on the afternoon.

Jordan Meyer (L, 2-5) struggled in his sixth start of the season, allowing four runs (three earned) and exiting with two runners on and no outs in the 4th. The Rams would go on to score four runs on four hits and an error that inning, pushing their lead to 6-0 after four innings.
Jarmuz delivered the two-out triple in the home half of the 4th to make it a 6-1 game but VCU answered with two runs in the top of the 6th. Jimmy Kerrigan homered in the 7th to give the Rams the eight-run lead.
VCU starter Brooks Vial (W, 4-3) lasted six innings, holding the Explorers to one run on three walks and five hits while fanning 15.
The series finale is set for Sunday afternoon. First pitch from Hank DeVincent Field is scheduled for 12 p.m.
