PHILADELPHIA – La Salle men's rowing won the petite final of the men's varsity eight event at the 2016 Kerr Cup on the Schuylkill River on Saturday, clocking a time of 6:03.53. The Explorers launched four boats on the day, the most of any regatta so far this season.
Crewing the varsity eight were sophomore
Grant Maddock (cox), sophomore
Kenny Roller, senior
Jack Schall, sophomore
Kieran Hughes, senior
Marqus Brown, sophomore
Jake Fabel, sophomore
Josh Brooks, sophomore Zack LaBarth, and senior
Kris Walls. The boat qualified for the petite final earlier in the day, finishing third in its heat (6:12.76) ahead of Maryland and Haverford.
The men's varsity four boat also had a strong performance on the river, finishing third in its heat with a time of 7:02.74. The time placed them almost five seconds ahead of Lehigh in their heat and placed them 11
th overall in the field of 21 boats over four heats. The varsity four was made up of freshman
Elijah Allis (cox), sophomore
Kyle Adams, senior
Matt Cardin, senior
Nick McGloin and sophomore
Waleed Omar.
The novice four boat, comprised of Christi Gosse (cox),
Sadik Canca,
Bob Noga,
Hoang Le and Justin Coogan, finished fifth in its heat with a time of 7:56.51. The time was good for 12
th overall in the field of 17 boats spread over three heats.
Rounding out the day's events the men's lightweight four boat finished fourth in their heat, ahead of Rochester, with a time of 6:50.20. Rowing in the lightweight four was junior Emily Giegerich (cox), freshman

The team returns to the Schuylkill on Saturday, April 23
