Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

La Salle Falls at Richmond, 16-7


RICHMOND, Va.- The La Salle women's lacrosse team dropped a 16-7 decision at Richmond on Sunday afternoon. The Explorers saw six different players record goals in the loss including a pair from junior Allee Ilgenfritz.
 
Freshman Sarah Gallagher recorded 11 saves in the cage for the Explorers. This was third game of the year with double-digit saves including her second this weekend. She also finished with a .407 save percentage on the day.
 
La Salle jumped out to an early 1-0 lead just 1:19 into the contest when Allee Ilgenfritz scored an unassisted goal.
 
The Spiders responded with seven straight goals to jump out to a 7-1 lead from which they wouldn't look back.
 
The Explorers grabbed two back to cut things to 7-3 after goals from senior Anna Kelly and sophomore Brittany Edwards both off assists form Ilgenfritz.
 
However, Richmond answered back with three of their own to reopen the lead to 10-3 with 2:17 left in the half.
 
Freshman Caddick scored her first career goal with 39 seconds remaining in the half to make it a 10-4 deficit heading into the half.
 
The second half saw the teams exchange goals with Richmond keeping the Explorers at a distance for much of the half. Ilgefritz scored just ten seconds into the half off an assist from sophomore Nicole Black.
 
Senior Allie Burnett scored with 18:45 remaining off a black assist before junior Courtney Woolford scored an unassisted man-up goal with 5:01 left to finish off the scoring for the Explorers.   
 
Senior Abby O'Donnell tied for a game-high with five ground balls while also adding a pair of caused turnovers on the afternoon.
 
La Salle closes out the season on Saturday as they welcome Duquesne on Senior Day at McCarthy Stadium. The Explorers control their own destiny for a spot in the A-10 Championship with a win securing the sixth seed in the tournament.
