EUGENE, Oregon - La Salle's Chris Sanders finished sixth in the 800 meters at the NCAA Final at historic Hayward Field at the University of Oregon. Sanders earns First Team All-American honors after crossing the finish line with a time of 1:47.50.

He is the fifth Explorer man to earn First Team All-America honors outdoors, joining Al Cantello, Ira Davis, John Uelses and Sean Quigley.

The race went out fast, as leaders completed the first lap in 24.10. Texas A&M freshman Donavan Brazier won the national championship in a NCAA record time of 1:43.55. Mississippi State's Brandon McBride was second (1:44.50).

Sanders will await possible selection to the U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field later this summer.
