PHILADELPHIA - La Salle sophomore rowers Josh Brooks and Kenny Roller have been named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team, it was announced today following voting by the region's sports information directors.

Both Explorers were members of the varsity eight that won the petite final at the Kerr Cup and finished fourth in its heat at the Bergen Cup. At Dad Vails, the boat finished fifth in its heat.

Brooks is a marketing major with a 3.50 grade point average, while Roller has a 3.46 GPA as an accounting major.

The La Salle duo is joined on the Academic All-Area Team by teammates Drexel's Joseph Masagi, Brett Barry and Ivo Krakic; Temple's Kati Jordan Funck and Evan Hammond; Rutgers-Camden's Shane Murphy and Phil Pilat; and Penn's Landis Walsh.
