PHILADELPHIA – Senior
Joey Ravert has been named to the 2016 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area baseball team, it was announced Thursday.
A Senior CLASS Award candidate leading into the season, Ravert graduated in May with a 3.62 GPA as an accounting major. The Havertown, Pa. native was also named Atlantic 10 All-Academic and earned a spot on the Big 5 All-Academic Team.
Ravert paced La Salle in homers (6), RBI (31) and extra-base hits (19) as a 1B/DH this season. As a pitcher, the righty led the Explorers with 58 strikeouts in 57.1 innings pitched.
The All-Are team is selected through voting conducted by the sports information offices of 29 institutions in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area.
