PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team has a pair of games this week against Big 5 rivals, beginning with a visit to Drexel on Thursday before the 2016 home opener on Sunday against Temple.
Scouting the Explorers
-The Explorers are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Wake Forest in the finale of the Wake Forest Invitational on Sunday.
-Freshman
Emily Wilkinson scored a goal in her first career game on Friday against NC State, deflecting a
Deja Davis free kick into the back of the net in the 90
th minute.

Larisa Zambelli tied her career-high with six saves against 15 shots faced on Sunday against Wake Forest.

Scouting the Dragons
-Drexel is off to a strong start, defeating Temple 2-1 in the 2016 opener and following up with a 3-0 shutout of Villanova on Sunday.
-Sophomore Shaelyn McCarty was named the CAA Player of the Week on Monday after scoring a pair of goals over the weekend. McCarty scored in the 16th minute against Temple and found the back of the net with the game-winner in the seventh minute against Villanova.
-Vanessa Kara had an assist against Temple and added a goal against Villanova. Kara was named to the 2016 Preseason All-CAA Women's Soccer Team after earning Third Team NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region, CAA Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Conference honors last season.
-Goalkeeper Christiana Ogunsami, a transfer from Vanderbilt, lowered her goals-against average to .50 with the shutout of Villanova. Ogunsami has 11 saves through two games.

Scouting the Owls
-Temple rebounded from a 2-1 loss to Drexel in the season opener with a 5-0 rout of Delaware State on Sunday afternoon.
-The win was Temple's sixth consecutive victory over Delaware State.
-Gabriella McKeown scored twice in the win over the Hornets, in the 42
nd minute and again in the 76
th. McKeown also assisted Sarah McGlinn's goal in the 46
th minute, and leads the team with five points.
-McGlinn also scored against Drexel, and is second on the team with four points. McGlinn finished with seven points as a freshman last season.
-Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Nash is coming off an All-Rookie campaign, and has 13 saves in two games.
