Men's Soccer Shuts Out James Madison

HARRISONBURG, Va. - The La Salle Men's Soccer team (5-1) has continued its stellar season with its fifth win in six games this year with a 1-0 victory Tuesday night on the road at James Madison. Colman Kennedy scored the game-winning goal while goalkeeper Mike Kirk posted his fourth shutout of the season.

"We stayed tactially disciplined," Head Coach Rob Irvine said after the game. "The players performed within their roles. This game featured new challenges that the players rose to. Now we have to prepare for a strong, well-organized Penn group."

At 5-1, Irvine's team is off to one its best starts of all time.

Kirk, who began the season with two straight shutouts, has now blanked two straight opponents for the second time this season. The senior made three saves in the game, including two in the first 20 minutes of the match.

Kennedy nailed home the game-winner with a header off of a throw-in from Zach Rutherford at the 75th minute for his second goal of the season.

The Explorers see action again this Saturday with a match on the road against the Penn Quakers at 7:30 PM.
