KINGSTON, RI - The La Salle women's soccer team (9-3-1, 4-0 A-10) recorded its fourth Atlantic 10 conference win in as many matches this season with a 2-0 shutout win over Rhode Island (3-9, 0-4 A-10).
Larisa Zambelli has been excellent in net all year and recorded her seventh shutout this season. Zambelli had five saves in the contest.
The offense was equally impressive as the Explorers had ten shots on goal compared to the Rams' five.
Maci Bower, whose four shots were a game-high, scored in the 25th minute of the game to give La Salle the 1-0 lead. Bower is now tied with
Kristin Haugstad for the team-high in goals with five this season.
Clarissa Kirsch-Downs tacked on a second goal later in the half. For Kirsch-Downs, a redshirt junior, the goal marked the first of her season.
Emily Wilkinson had the assist on the play.
The Explorers have now won four matches in a row. During that streak, they are outscoring opponents 12-2.
