Box Score ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The La Salle women's soccer team (12-3-1, 7-0 A-10) defeated St. Bonaventure (1-12-3, 1-4-2) 2-0 on Thursday night at the Marra Athletics Complex to remain perfect in Atlantic 10 play.
The Explorers struck early as
Maci Bower scored the game-winning goal just 2:52 into play. Freshman
Jenna Soriano provided her first career assist as Bower found the back of the net for the eighth time this season, tying her with older sister
Madison Bower for the team lead.
Marcela Robinson added an insurance goal in the 76
th minute, heading in a
Jess Shanahan corner kick. The goal was third of the season for Robinson while Shanahan tallied her third helper on the play.
The Explorers recorded their 10
th shutout of the season in the win, which is second only to Saint Louis (11 shutouts).
Larisa Zambelli made four saves while the defense limited SBU to just five total shots and two corner kicks.
La Salle took five corners on the night, and also outshot the Bonnies 12-5. The Explorers put nine shots on goal against SBU keeper Lauren Malcolm.
The Explorers return home on Sunday as they host the Fordham Rams at McCarthy Stadium at 1 p.m.
