AMHERST, Mass. - The La Salle men's soccer team failed to score in a 2-0 loss to UMass on Saturday. The Minutemen are ranked 33rd in in the country in the latest RPI standings, meaning they are among La Salle's toughest opponents this season.
The Explorers played hard, though, about mostly kept pace with UMass. After the first half of play, La Salle out-shot Massachusetts and its top-scoring offense in the Atlantic 10, 3-2. Both teams turned up the offense in the second frame and ended up tying in shots, 10-10.Â

Joe Hansen recorded La Salle's only shot on goal in the game. UMass displayed fantastic defense en route to its ninth regular season win.Â
The Explorers have just four games left on the schedule. Next up, they will return home to square off with cross-town rival St. Joseph's on Wednesday night at McCarthy Stadium. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
