Box Score PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team (13-3-1, 8-0 A-10) picked up its eighth straight win on Sunday with a 1-0 decision over the Fordham Rams (5-7-5, 2-4-2 A-10) at McCarthy Stadium.
Kristin Haugstad converted a penalty kick with 4:50 left in regulation for the game's only score after
Danielle Marx drew a foul in the box. The goal was Haugstad's eighth of the season, which puts her in a three-way tie with Madison and
Maci Bower for the team lead in goals.
Larisa Zambelli made two saves as the Explorers tallied their 11
th shutout of the season. La Salle allowed only four shots and two corner kicks on the afternoon.
La Salle took 11 shots on the afternoon, putting four on target against Fordham keeper Kelly LaMorte. Haugstad led the way with six shots, including two on goal.
Maci Bower and
Jess Shanahan also landed shots on target.
The Explorers enter the final week of Atlantic 10 play with a road game at George Mason on Thursday before they host VCU on Sunday for Senior Day.
