PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team hosts the Dayton Flyers on Saturday afternoon at McCarthy Stadium in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Championship. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m., and the winner will advance to Richmond for the Semifinal round on November 3.
Scouting the Explorers
-With a 1-0 win over VCU at home on Sunday, the Explorers finished 9-0-1 in league play to win the Atlantic 10 regular season title and clinch the top seed for the A-10 Championship.
-La Salle midfielder
Danielle Marx was named Atlantic 10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. The senior scored two huge goals last week to help the Explorers finish the regular season unbeaten in A-10 play, including the game-winning goal in the 54th minute of Sunday's 1-0 defeat of VCU.
-The Explorers defeated Dayton in their previous meeting, a 4-0 decision at home on September 28. Four different Explorers found the back of the net, and
Larisa Zambelli registered four saves for the shutout.
-La Salle outscored league opponents 30-6 in 10 games, tallying seven shutouts. La Salle scored 41 goals on the season, just one behind Saint Louis for most in the A-10.

Madison Bower tied for the league lead in points with 25, while
Kristin Haugstad (24), Marx (20) and
Maci Bower (19) were all in the top six in the league

Scouting the Flyers
-Dayton went 2-0 in the last week of the season to secure the final spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship, defeating Richmond 5-1 at home and UMass 3-1 on the road on Sunday.
-Dayton is 1-4-2 this season against the A-10 Championship field, with their lone win coming against George Mason.
- UD has gone 0-4 during their last four trips to McCarthy Stadium.
-Dayton has appeared in 20 A-10 tournaments, earning a berth every year the Flyers have been a member of the conference.
