PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team looks to earn the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament win on Saturday evening as they visit the Rutgers Scarlet Knights in the First Round of the 2017 NCAA Tournament.

Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle earned the program's fifth NCAA Tournament berth since 2011 by winning the Atlantic 10 Championship in dramatic fashion over the weekend in Richmond, Va. The team has compiled a record of 17-3-2, tying the 2012 team for most wins in a season in program history.
-Only two Division I women's soccer teams have more wins than La Salle's 17 this season. Duke leads the nation with 19 wins while Stanford has 18 victories.
-The 2017 Explorers also tied the 1987 club for the program record for most goals in a season with 47. La Salle has 49 assists on the season, just three shy of tying the school record of 52 (2000).
-Senior midfielder Danielle Marx was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week (October 30-November 5) for her critical leadership during La Salle's victorious A-10 Championship run.
-Madison Bower's 29 points this season are the most by an Explorer since Kelsey Haycook set the records for goals (20) and points (43) in a season in 2014.
-Maci Bower has scored seven game-winning goals this season, which is tied for third in the NCAA.
-A-10 Championship Most Outstanding Player Larisa Zambelli has earned 12 shutouts this season, which is 5
th in the NCAA. With Sunday's shutout of VCU, Zambelli moved into 2
nd place all-time at La Salle with 18 career shutouts.

Scouting the Scarlet Knights
-Rutgers is playing in their eighth NCAA Tournament in the last 10 years and the 12
th in program history. RU is 11-9-5 in NCAA Tournament play and 7-0-2 at Yurcak Field. In 2015, RU reached the College Cup for the first time in program history.
-Rutgers enters the NCAA Tournament with a nation-best 0.247 GAA, while also ranked second in team shutout percentage (0.798) with 15 clean sheets in 19 contests.
-The Scarlet Knights are one of five Big Ten teams to qualify for NCAAs. Penn State won the conference's automatic bid with a 2-1 win over Northwestern in the Big Ten final while Ohio State, Wisconsin and Northwestern also earned at-large bids
-Rutgers and La Salle have met nine times in program history, with the Scarlet Knights holding an 8-0-1 advantage. The teams most recently matched up in the First Round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, where Rutgers earned a 2-0 win at home.
