No. 6 La Salle Advances to A-10 Quarterfinal with 73-70 Win over No. 11 St. Bonaventure

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team had three scorers in double figures as they outlasted St. Bonaventure 73-70 on Saturday afternoon at Tom Gola Arena to advance to the A-10 Quarterfinals next week in Richmond.

Adreana Miller had a team-high 20 points and went 5-for-6 from the foul line over the final 23.4 seconds to help the Explorers seal the win. Jasmine Alston had 11 points and matched her season-high with 13 assists to tally her fifth double-double while Lisa Mintzer netted a career-high 16 points after going 5-for-6 from the field and 6-for-6 from the foul line.

La Salle trailed by four points at the half after a furious St. Bonaventure rally in the 2nd quarter but managed 12 unanswered points midway through the 3rd quarter to take an eight-point lead. Five different Explorers scored during the run, which included a pair of layups from Alston.

The Bonnies refused to go quietly, trimming the La Salle lead to 50-47 heading into the final quarter. La Salle opened the 4th on a 6-0 run thanks to a three-pointer from Miller and Sofi Ngwafang's three-point play with 8:36 left in the game.

The Explorers kept a comfortable lead for most of the 4th quarter, leading 66-57 as late as the 3:25 mark in the quarter before the Bonnies cut the lead to 68-66 with five straight points with 2:02 remaining.

The score remained at 68-66 thanks to a Micahya Owens block with 59 seconds left and a defensive stop for the Explorers on St. Bonaventure's next possession. SBU was then forced to foul and Miller came up clutch from the line, hitting five free throws over the final 23.4 ticks to end the game.

Mariah Ruff paced SBU with 22 points while Gabby Richmond add 18 points and 10 rebounds and Mckenna Maycock chipped in 10.

The Explorers will play No. 3 Saint Joseph's in the A-10 Quarterfinal on Friday night at 7 p.m. at the Richmond Coliseum.
