GREENVILLE, N.C. - The La Salle baseball team (0-7) lost their third straight game to East Carolina University (4-3) this weekend, 12-1. The Pirates were receiving votes in the latest top 25 poll and are considered to be one of the Explorers' toughest opponents of the season.
ECU jumped out to a big early lead, scoring eight runs in the bottom of the first inning and then scoring two more in the third.
The Explorers' lone run came in the sixth when
Ben Faso put the ball in play and an error by the ECU right fielder allowed Kevin McGowen to score.
Connor Hinchliffe was 2-for-5 while
Yan Carlo Rivera,
Ryan Guckin, and
Brian Tagoe each had a base hit.
La Salle will hit the field again on Friday when they play Niagara in Charlottesville, Virginia at 11:00 AM.
