CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The La Salle Baseball team (0-8) fell to Niagara University (4-3) on Friday, 8-5. The Explorers trailed for the whole game but scored five runs in the last four innings.Still, they weren't able to climb back.
Starting pitcher
Luke Reilly (0-1) continued to deal on the mound. The left threw eight strikeouts over five innings. His only earned run allowed came in the second inning on an RBI single. Reilly took the loss but improved his ERA to 2.30. He has struck out 18 batters over 15.2 innings this season.
Freshman right fielder
Dylan Evans drew his first start of the season and took advantage of the playing time with two hits in four at bats with two RBI's. His first hit came in the seventh inning and was a triple down the right field line to score Kevin McGowen. He'd double in his next at bat to score
Ben Faso.
Brian Tagoe finished the day 1-for-3 with two RBI's and and walk.
La Salle will return to the field tomorrow to take on No. 10 Virginia at noon.
