CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The La Salle Baseball team (0-9) were downed by No. 10 Virginia (10-0) on Saturday afternoon, 12-3.
The Cavaliers were out to an early lead, scoring five unanswered runs in the first five innings including three in the first.
The Explorers managed to cut the deficit to 5-3, scoring all three runs in the sixth innings.
Kevin McGowen was 1-4 with an RBI single to score
Yan Carlo Rivera in the sixth frame. Later in the inning,
Ben Faso doubled to score McGowen and
Connor Hinchliffe.
La Salle's 1-5 hitters each had at least one hit, including
Austin Constantini.
The Explorers are in action again tomorrow in two games. They first play Niagara at 11 AM following by No. 10 Virginia at 2:30 PM.
