VILLANOVA - The La Salle Men's Swimming team competed in their last meet of the season on Saturday at the Villanova Sprint Fest.
"It was a fun, fast meet to get us prepared for the A-10 Championships," said Head Coach
Jamie Platt.
Senior
Mattias Glenesk notched the first win of the day for the Explorers, topping the 650 freestyle in 6:18.68. His time was nearly ten seconds in front of second place. Glenesk later won the 200 free in 1:49.00 flat for his second victory in as many events.
Aleksandar Nikolic placed first in the 100 free with a final time of 47.57. Just behind him, teammate Norman Gregory took second place.
In the 50 breast,
Marcus Forsgren touched the wall the fastest, clocking in at 26.99 seconds. His time was just two hundredths of the second in front of teammate
Dimitrije Mladenovic. Forsgren later topped the 50 free in 21.59 seconds.
Jakub Bartosiewicz and
Cameron Fadley finished one-two in the 100 fly with Bartosiewicz posting the top time of 49.96 seconds. Fadley later won the 100 IM in 52.17 seconds.
Fabian Bergman won the 100 back in 50.42 seconds. Bergman also finished second in the 50 back and 100 IM.
Christoff Ras' final time in the 100 breast was good for another La Salle first place. Ras clocked in at 58.92 seconds.
The Blue and Gold closed out the event with a win in the 100 free relay as Gregory and Forsgren were joined by Sam Odtallah and
Strahinja Stankovic for the win.
Platt and his team will now prepare for the Atlantic 10 Championships, which begin on February 15th in Geneva, Ohio.
