SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The La Salle Baseball team (2-14) was defeated by Wofford (6-9) on Saturday, 6-1. The game marked the final of a long road trip for La Salle.
Starting pitcher
C.J. Pruitt surrendered three runs in the first inning but quickly found a groove, allowing just one run over the next 5.2 frames. Altogether, Pruitt lasted 6.2 innings and struck out five opposing batters.
The Explorers' run came in the ninth inning when
Kevin McGowan's sac fly scored
Rafael Amanau who doubled earlier in the inning.
Weather permitting, La Salle will host its home opener on Tuesday at 3:00 PM when Villanova comes to Hank DeVincent Field.
