SPARTANBURG, Va. - The La Salle Baseball team (1-12) went down to USC Upstate (7-8) by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday evening.
The Explorers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning when
Ryan Guckin's 2 RBI single scored
Zach Wright and
Dylan Evans. However, the Spartans scored the next six runs of the contest.
La Salle would score again in the seventh when
Chase Arnold's sacrifice fly advanced
Kevin McGowan from third. McGowan was one of three La Salle players with a multi-hit game, along with
Austin Constantini and
Ben Faso.
Relief pitcher
Erik Janss finished with an impressive outing, lasting five innings and striking out seven while giving up just one earned run.
