BRONX, N.Y. -
Chase Arnold's triple to score
Kevin McGowan in the 10th inning lifted the La Salle baseball team (4-18, 1-3 A-10) over Fordham (9-12, 1-3 A-10) by a score of 7-6. The win was the Explorers' second in a row.
The Explorers' run production was spread out as the team scored in six different innings. The first run came in the top of the first when
Rafael Amanau scored
Austin Constantini on a sac fly. They scored again in the fourth on a
Ben Faso double to score McGowan.
It seemed like every time La Salle scored, Fordham had answers. After a three-run fifth inning, the Rams led 6-3. The Explorers would score the next four runs of the game, including RBI singles by Constantini and
Connor Hinchliffe and then Arnold's decisive triple in the 10th.
McGowan, Faso, and
Brian Tagoe all went went 2-for-5 and scored runs.
Relief pitcher
Blake James (1-1) picked up the win and struck out four batters in 3.2 innings. Constantini earned the save, his second of the season.
Coach
Mike Lake and the Explorers play a doubleheader with Fordham tomorrow at noon.
