PHILADELPHIA- The La Salle lacrosse team dropped an A-10 contest to Saint Joseph's on Saturday, April 15 when the team made the short trip to Sweeney Field.
Six Explorers scored as the Hawks down La Salle in a 15-6 contest over the weekend.
Allee Ilgenfritz ,
Toni Massetti,
Nicole Black,
Isabel Caddick and
Abby Squires all scored as La Salle fell to 2-4 in conference play.
Freshman
Gabby Burton recorded her first career goal after a pass from
Emily Martin in the second period with under a minute left in play.
In addition to their goals, Ilgenfritz and Black added one assist for the Explorers on the day.
Black won a team-high three draws, while Lynch, Martin,
Ashley Blanton and
Anna Gordon also won one draw apiece.
Caddick and
Courtney Shoults led the team with two caused turnovers apiece, while Caddick picked up three ground balls and Shoults grabbed two. Massetti, Lynch and Ilgenfritz also caused one turnover each in the contest.
In goal,
Lucy Loughlin picked up three ground balls and tallied seven saves in her 43 minutes in goal.
Kaitlyn Re added two saves in the 16 minutes in the net in the second stanza.
La Salle will face Duquesne on Friday, April 21 at 3:00 PM to continue A-10 play.
