PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University men's rowing team had a pair of boats compete in the Bergen Cup on the Schuylkill River on Saturday.
The Explorers had their varsity eight boat, comprised of
Grant Maddock,
Scott Dunn,
Kenny Roller,
Jack Mischak,
Kieran Hughes,
Mike Gormley,
Bob Noga,
Waleed Omar and Kyle Adams, clipped the tape in a time of 6:23.13 to close in fifth position.
In the other race of the day, the freshman four boat of newcomersÂ
Quoc Tran,
Andrew Smith, Nathan Durso,
John Best and
Bassem Omar ended its race in 7:07.2 to finish fourth.
La Salle has a long layoff until its final regatta of the year, the Dad Vails, which will take place on May 12-13 on the Schuylkill River.
