Toni Massetti sent three goals in the net to lead the team in the class of 2017's final contest at McCarthy Stadium. Despite four different Explorers netting the ball on Sunday, April 23, La Salle dropped the contest in a 17-6 lopsided match.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead when the team netted three consecutive goals, until junior
Rachel Ceplo was able to slow Davidson down by putting up La Salle's first goal.
Nicole Black followed up with a shot on goal three minutes later to bring the score to a 3-2 disadvantage. However, Wildcats continued to gain momentum, despite a goal from Massetti to close the half.
The attack scored again to open the second half and netted her third midway through, but it was not enough to control the Wildcats.
Courtney Woolford tallied La Salle's final goal at eight minutes left in regulation before Davidson fired back with three as the clock wound down.
Isabel Caddick assisted La Salle on the defensive battle, bringing in three ground balls and forcing two turnovers to lead the Explorers in both categories.
Gordon, Ceplo, Woolford and
Ashley Blanton picked up two ground balls apiece, with Gordon and Ceplo adding one won draw each to the day's statistics.
The seniors, including
Allee Ilgenfritz, Black, Gordon, Woolford,
