PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle Baseball team celebrated the college careers of senior pitchers
Andrew Craig and
Jorge Jimenez before a doubleheader against George Washington on Saturday.
Jimenez drew the start in game one, striking out four in 2.1 scoreless innings. He allowed just one hit.
Rafael Amanau led the offense in the game, going 3-for-4 with an RBI double in the sixth inning to knock in
Kevin McGowan. Amanau also had a great diving catch in the beginning of the game.
McGowan, along with
Ben Faso and
Connor Hinchliffe, finished the game 2-for-4.
Blake James fanned five batters in 4.2 innings of relief.
In game two,
Luke Reilly threw nine strikeouts in 8.1 innings. He'd have lasted longer if not for an hour-long lightning delay in the ninth inning.
Faso and McGowan combined for six of the Explorers' nine hits in the second game.
La Salle will now travel to Rider on Tuesday at 3:00 PM.
