PHILADELPHIA - The Lafayette Leopards jumped out to an early lead and the La Salle Baseball team wasn't able to claw its way back despite chipping away all game in a 13-9 defeat in a non-conference game at Hank DeVincent Field on Tuesday.
La Salle's scoring of nine runs was spread through just three big innings. The Explorers scored four runs in the fourth inning, starting with a
Kevin McGowan homer over the right field fence.
Chase Arnold later doubled and
Ryan Guckin hit a sac fly to five the Explorers their fourth run.
In the sixth inning,
Austin Constantini hit a triple to right center with the bases loaded to score three more runs. Guckin's ninth inning double scored Conner Hinchliffe and
Kevin McGowan to give La Salle its eighth and ninth runs of the game.
La Salle has a quick turnaround as it will now travel to play at Villanova on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
