VILLANOVA - The La Salle Baseball team was defeated by Villanova in a non-conference road game on Wednesday, 3-2.
The Explorers scored their only two runs of the game in the first inning off the bat of designated hitter
Chase Arnold. The junior DH doubled to right field to score
Brian Tagoe and
Austin Constantini.
Constantini finished 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. He also pitched a scoreless 1-2-3 eighth inning.
Second baseman
Michael Flax had two hits in four at bats.
Starting pitcher
Jared Mattera threw seven strong innings, allowing just three runs.
The Explorers will now travel across town to Saint Joseph's for a three-game series beginning on Friday at 3:00 PM.
